Sunday 4 October 2026
Sun is shining — our first shift of the season. A blue, flat, warm Sunday, the tent down in good time, and sundowners at the club after.
Congrats to Trent for scoring his first prevention rescue — full board paddle out to the back ❤️ And congrats to Yannick for his first aid since getting bronze!!! It was just a bandaid. Congrats to JBJ for taking up the Head of Hospitality for our first patrol, and a special thanks for the cameo performance from Foxo, and Mark and Viv for joining Patrol 14. Lastly, congrats to Joseph for completing his first P14 patrol and giving some first-aid advice (a teaspoon of cement) to remedy a child's cry 🥊 Listen out for Ronnie's new P14 roar as he puts the tent away — very contagious. Best on ground would have to go to Jono for getting through his patrol hangover with only a chicken wrap, fries and Coca-Cola. Best whistle goes to Jane: Zoe wanted to whistle but changed her mind, Jane stepped in and was pleasantly greeted with a thank-you for volunteering from the public :) And a shout-out to Julia and Rob for missing patrol but showing up to the sundowner after-party for a debrief.

Nine shifts on the sand
Every shift gets a page: the Captain's wrap, the photos, best on ground, the Head of Hospitality, and the time the tent came down. Post in the chat as always — and drop the good ones here, because this is what the end-of-season book is made from.
